# Ask

> Type a question or an intent — the cockpit plans the work.

Ask is the cockpit's command surface. It's not a chatbot dashboard and it's not a free-form LLM toy. It's the place you type an intent ("why did spend on the ayurpet account spike last Thursday?", "draft a follow-up for the leads who replied this week") and the cockpit plans, reads, and proposes back.

## What you can ask

Ask is wired to a small, curated tool surface. As of today it can:

* Pull a windowed Ads summary (KPIs and deltas).
* Analyse per-campaign movers between two periods.
* Query Shopify order funnels through your analytics events.
* Recall what you've previously told Mesh Pilot (memory).
* Recall corroborated cross-brand patterns from the Brain.
* List the brands you have access to.

When you ask something that would change the world — pause an ad, send an email, dial a phone — Ask never executes directly. It writes a proposal into your **Inbox** and tells you to go decide.

## What's on the page

A simple chat surface plus a few summary modules:

* **Recent asks** — the last few intents you typed.
* **Open plans / in-flight tasks** — any multi-step work Ask kicked off.
* **Suggested next commands** — context-aware nudges based on what's happening across your brands.

<Note>
  Ask is brand-scoped. If you have multiple brands, switch context in the top bar before asking — every tool call is scoped to the brand you've selected.
</Note>

## What Ask will not do

* No write action without an Inbox approval.
* No leak across brands — every tool refuses calls outside your authorized brand set.
* No surfacing of token counts, model names, or other plumbing in the operator view.
